March challenge – Fly away

On the Northern Hemisphere spring has just begun. First flowers are just going to bloom. Birds are singing and soon butterflies will appear. This month we would like you to join our challenge – the theme is FLY AWAY. Feel free to interpret it any way you want.

Below you will find some inspirations from our wonderful designers:

Soar high above

The first images that popped into my mind while thinking about the subject were wing drawings by Da Vinci. As I was thinking how he studied mechanics of flying the mental images of wings were morphed into having gears, springs and pulleys. So when I started creating, I grabbed a paper from the Nature Walk collection and some pens and started to draw a huge wing. At that point I already knew which photo I would use that went with the theme – it’s a ring my father gave me when I graduated. It’s like a piece of armor, made out of silver.

Take flight

The photo (found at Pinterest) features a jar that opens up and some beautiful butterflies are released! When I saw this photo I was reminded of how we must free our minds from the fears and hesitations that hold us back! And by doing so, we’ll fly away!

I hope you will like it!

I thought this picture of my kids flying a kite up high in the air was the perfect picture for this month’s challenge.
