Hello 7 Dots Studio fans
Have you seen the numbers in our October challenge?! I am so happy that so many of you decided to play with our October theme!! Thank you – you have made my day!!!
Today I would like to encourage you to play with us also in our November challenge, that is “warm and cosy” On the Northern Hemisphere winter is coming, so most of us would love to sit on the comfortable sofa or armchair, take soft blanket and drink slowly warm tea, coffee, chocolate, milk… Let our Design Team inspire you.
“Warm and cosy” makes me think of home and things that are dear to me. When I was going through my pile of photos for scrapbooking, I noticed this one, taken of a brown paper package. Immediately the “Sound of Music” song about favorite things started playing in my head. That song makes me feel warm inside and there’s something awfully homely about the “brown paper packages tied up with string”. They have an air of a lost era about them – something really cosy, comfy and heart-warming.
Although the challenge calls for a Warm and Cozy theme, I chose the Cold Country collection as I totally love the neutral colours. I made this card for a friend’s 30th, and wanted to keep it simple as she really likes the shabby and romantic cards I make. Thus, the Cold Country papers were perfect!
I used many different papers from the ‘Nature Walk’ Collection for my ‘Warm & Cosy’ page, because the neutrals are so easy to ‘warm up’ with gold, russet & brown tones. As Winter is almost a non-event where I live I focused instead on emotions & how warm & cosy the love is that I share with my daughter.
There’s nothing warmer or cozier for me than a cup of hot chocolate, while I sit next to my Christmas tree… it’s just magical! So my page is about the warmth and coziness of the Christmas season (that is quickly approaching us!)! I used papers, die-cuts and stickers from the “Nature Walk” collection, which I think is the warmest collection ever!
My November layout is about last warm autumn days and beautiul touch warm gloves and flowers.
There’s nothing better than drinking a warm cup of hot chocolate by the fire place on a cold and rainy day to feel warm and cozy.
When I saw the subject of november challenge I had a short moment of panic What to do, what picture should I use? Warm and cozy – it reminds me of christmas, long winter evenings but I didn’t have a proper photo. After few days of thinking I had a revelation. I thought about things that warm my heart and make me feel good. I found a photo of my lovely daughter Maja. She is a real sunshine and she trully melt my heart. She is my warm and cozy thing.
I just loved this photo of a friend when she was younger. They both have on chunky hand knitted jumpers and this just personified warm and cosy for me. I used warm earth tones to complete the layout to keep with the theme of the challenge.
This photo was taken on one of the coldest days I have ever experienced. My family were in a town called Ballarat here in Victoria and it was o close to snow! My son was there playing in a soccer tournament! I felt so sorry for him only wearing shorts and short sleeves in this kind of weather!! My daughter and I had to stay back in our cabin as it was too cold for her to run around in. However she decided to put on her gumboots, coat, and gloves with her umbrella and splash around anyway!! At least her feet were cosy and warm!!!
For this page, I worked with the “Domestic goddess” collection: wonderful papers, stickers and die-cut elements. I love this collection because the colors are very warm
I added some flowers and chipboards from Illumination collection.
