Christmas ornament by Sanderijn de Bruin

I wanted to create some sort of hanger to put on the tree for Christmas (or to hang on the wall as a Christmas ornament).
Yuletide collection is absolutely fabulous for such projects.
I always loved the deer on the paper ‘Sugarplum’ and finally I had an idea to use it!

I made a photo tutorial to show how it is made.

Step 1 Die cut some feathers from Yuletide papers.

Step 2 Cut out deer to fit into the ring.

Step 3 Use distress ink ‘Black sooth’ to distress the edges of the feathers and the deer circle.

Step 4 Paint the ring with white gesso and red acrylic paint. After the red paint dried, I painted again with some white gesso and used some mica powder to give it a shimmer.

Step 5 Look for some other Christmas related things for the hanging parts.

Step 6 Attach the doily with the deer on it, together with the little bells using some black and white rope.

Step 7 Use the rope to attach the hanging parts. Add some word stickers.

Thank you for taking a look at my project!
Love, Sanderijn
