Wake up by Sanderijn de Bruin

Hi everybody,
Today I would like to show you my altered heart.

I found the heart (it’s from wood) at a store last week and I immediately had ideas for it. I started with drawing the heart on 12 x 12 inch paper from Cotton Candy Dreams collection. Then I used the hex stencil with white crackle paste on the paper. I added clear crackle varnish to the sides of the wooden heart, and when it was dry and crackled, I brushed a layer of white gesso over it.

When that layer was also dry, I started spraying with the colours from the paper. I added as much layers as I wanted and dried it with the heat tool. Then I used some opal magic wax on the sides to give it that extra bit of shimmer. I glued down the paper inside the heart, and started building from the center, the stamped text on a piece of paper, layered it up with tags, flowers, die cuts and straws.

Thank you for visiting!
Love, Sanderijn
