Run wild by Fiona Paltridge

Hello 7 Dots lovelies! Fiona here with you again to share an abstract art style layout using the beautiful elements from the “Cotton Candy Dreams” collection.

I started this background with a very abstract idea in mind using lots of wet mediums like texture paste, acrylic paint and gesso. Once the background dried i added some stamping and die cut elements along with the element stickers.

I just love playing with my layouts not knowing where they may end up. The fun element of the abstract style really appeals to me.

I find the less thought I give it and the more I enjoy the process, then the more likely I am to like the end result.

I use a sturdy canvas board so it will take all the wet mediums i throw onto it. Give it a go …. it’s very liberating and even when it appears that you’ve created nothing but a hot mess then start to layer some elements on top and you’ll be surprised at how well it all brings it together.
Most of all, have fun!

Moments to live forby Nastya Istorkina

Hello 7 Dots Studio fans! Nastya Istorkina is here today! And I want to share with you my new project. I made yellow-green layout with photo of myself. It was really gorgeous day, it was such an inspiring and beautiful sunset. So I wanted to use one of the positive colours – yellow! I used materials from four collections. It is so wonderful that all 7 Dots Studio collections fit together and I can make project in the colour I want.

For this layout I used a paper sheet from Homegrown collection as background. To make background more interesting I added 3D gloss gel and gloss microbeads through the stencil, and some watercolor. I love how it looks on this pretty gray sheet. Also I used some stickers, tags, die-cut elements and more layers of the paper!

So here it is – my multi-layered and multi-detailed positive layout! To have it finally finished in my hands, is a one more moment to live for!

Lately I have discovered Art Journaling. I find it to be fun and it lets me improve my skills. The Art Journal guru´s among the rest of the 7 Dots Studio team inspired me greatly.

I used products from the Writer´s Block Collection, Cotton Candy Dreams & Fortune Teller collections on this spread.

Strips of papers, stickers, die-cut elements and word stickers works perfectly for an Art Journal spread. I just added them in layers, splattered/painted on some Tattered Angels Mists and then applied a piece of tread and chipboard.

I used some leftovers from a previous project I made. I accidentally turned the paper the wrong side when cutting them out but nothing goes to the bin – I love recycling.

I love the lady from the Fortune Teller “Soul” paper. She fits perfectly!
Thank you for the visit today!
