Cookie Jar by Olga Eltysheva

Hello everyone! I want to share the mixed media canvas I created using alcohol inks.

The list of supplies that I used: canvas, alcohol ink, texture gel, stencil, various decorations – sequins, paper flowers, transparent fabric, stickers, lace, chipboard and background stamp.

At first, I applied texture gel over a stencil.

Then, I selected a few favorite colors of alcohol inks for a bright background.

After I finished coloring the canvas with alcohol inks,I painted over the pattern with Distress Ink and added decoration – flowers, lace, a photo and other.

I added stamping with archival black ink to the background. The final part of the work – splatters of a white acrylic paint with water and I used Glossy Accents to attach sequins and chipboard.

But when my work was finished, I wanted to change the main photo, it seems to me that the darker picture looks much better, Such unplanned situations happen often.
Thank you for your attention! I hope you find this tutorial inspirational!

Hi gang
With what do you begin your creation? Is the picture always that inspired you? The pictures are what inspire my creation process, it inspires all the embellishments and the colours of every part of my layout.

The spirit of that picture talked to me a lot. I just needed to express creativity coming from that picture.

I used some 7 Dots Studio die-cuts and stickers to express my feelings. I tried to create some texture to look like my picture. And here’s the result.

Do you, let the picture show you the way to express yourself? Do you follow it’s lead?

See you soon…
Sandra xx
