Tea Bag Tags by Louise Nelson

For today’s tutorial I would like to share with you some of the creative fun I have been having with creating ‘Tea Bag Art’. I have incorporated them into some fun tags created with the newly released Dreamscapes range.

Step by Step
Begin with saving some of your used teabags and allowing them to dry out. When they are dry tear the bottom of the bag to open them up. Empty out all of the dried tea leaves. Apply 2 coats of heavy white gesso to the tea bags, this will make it easier to stamp on.

When the gesso is dry select your favourite 7 Dots Studio stamp and begin to stamp images on to the areas of gesso on the tea bags. When you have finished stamping enough teabags for your projects select those that suit your tag designs. For these tags I deconstructed the teabags and only used the top layer.
Next select your desired tags and begin to put them together. I selected 2 large tags for the Dreamscapes range.

Construct your tags using the fabulous die cut elements and sticker elements from the Dreamscape range. I also added cotton thread and Flair button embellishments.

To complete the tags I selected some coordinating cardstock branch design die-cuts. These were coloured with chalkboard spray mist. When dry adhere them to the tags to compliment your design. To finish off add some coordinated mist splats to the tags and colour some silk ribbon for the tag ties.

Well that is it from me for this tutorial, I do hope that you have enjoyed how I have incorporated some fun ‘Tea Bag Art’ into creating these tags.
