Gimme some sugar by Riikka Kovasin

Hello there!
It’s Riikka here today to share a layout with a video with you. The inspiration to this page came from the recent challenge with the pet theme.

The picture is of my dad’s dog. It took a while to learn to beg treats from the table, but thanks to my mom, now the furry friend always goes around the table looking sad and begging for a little something. I mean, look at those eyes! Luckily, it’s only my mom who gives him something from the table, but still the fellow tries his luck at anyone.

Another source of inspiration for the page was the new collections! Each time the new lines are out, I think they are the best yet and I could never love a collection more – and then even more spectacular ones are released! This page has a lot of “Northern Lights” in it, but I mixed in some “Paint Chips” and some older collections, too. If you wish to see how I created the page, please see the video!

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you liked the video and found it inspiring! With this project I wish to send you Holiday greetings and a magnificent start to the New Year!
Until next time, Xoxo Riikka

Follow your heart by Juliya Tirskaya

Hello everyone!
Juliya today sharing a mixed media layout “Follow your heart”. Christmas is coming soon, and I wanted to make this layout a wish. Wishing to follow your heart and believe that everything will be fine!

For this work I took a sheet from the Paint Chips collection. I really love this combination of colors, and what a beautiful background this sheet is!

As usual, my pages begin with Clear Gesso to make a protective layer for the paper and prepare it to work with paints and sprays.
Then comes the texture through the stencil. I mixed Modeling Paste with Art Stones and the stencil from this collection is like a Christmas tree :)

I also used a strip of acrylic, I adore this effect of the showcase and I will not get tired of playing with it.

Oh,look what a lovely mini deer you can find in the Northern Lights collection!

Here is my video where you can watch my creative process and i hope you will like it.

Thanks a lot :)

November Challenge: Favourite Animal or Pet

Animals, humans faithful companions, pets and best friends. Not only do they bring joy into our lives but are magnificent creatures. That’s why this month we want you to capture the beauty of your favourite animals or pets in your projects. So, get busy scrapping and share with us your animal friends.

Here is the inspiration from our team:

Hello everyone! This month we have such a good challenge which gives so many possibilities to create! I was inspired by this photo and it`s colour pallet. Green and red – such a beautiful combo! I was using Dreamscapes paper collection and tags. My main paper sheet for background is Chestnuts from Yuletide paper collection and word stickers from Fortune-teller. Wish you a lot of inspiration, Nadya.

For our cute challenge, the animals were chosen by my daughter. She is very fond of foxes and cats. And it’s a layout for her! I really wanted to do something sweet and natural. I like to use the “Dreamscapes” collection for forest projects. It always inspires me! I hope you also love this collection, like me!

On this challenge I took a photograph of the cat. There are two cats in my house who like to turn the house upside down. And on the page I collected their favourite toys: a bell, coils of wool and paper. They just adore paper! Our sweet cats.

This layout is about our new pug puppy Lucy, who has recently joined our family. She is so tiny and cute and is our little princess. She will be a very pampered pup. I have used a mix of the Hazy Days and Homegrown collections for this layout. I have also used some of the Dreamscapes stamps.

I love the different animals: cats, dogs, and raccoons… as a child I always asked my mom to get a kitten, but she didn’t allow one. And then when I got married, my husband once brought a cat! It was a tiny red lump that couldn’t even feed himself. I fed him milk from a pipette, and cared for him like a child. Now I live with three cats and a big German shepherd. With great pleasure I would get another dog and a couple cats, but now my husband doesn’t allow that :)

For November’s Challenge Louise has created a Tag showcasing a photo of her fave four legged friend, ‘Finn’, [a friends dog]. He is a bit of a ratbag but totally loveable!!! :)

I created a layout featuring our cute dog Cookie. He is not only cute but his fur is white as snow so I thought it would be perfect to create a layout full of snowflakes that match his fur. I used the Verano Azul collection for the background as well as some of the tags. I framed the photo in the Hazy days chipboard frame and used some of the chipboard stars to decorate.

When I heard about the theme of this challenge, I immediately thought about Butterflies! I think butterflies are the most gracious animal, aren’t they? So I decided to create a special mixed media canvas for this challenge. I used crackle paint and modeling paste through 7 DOTS STUDIO stencil for the background and added different layers with Fortune-teller‘s tags, Die-cuts and stickers from different collections. The words stickers are from the new collection Nothern Lights.

My favourite animal is my dog, Mister Cookie (Monsieur Biscuit in French). It is my most faithful companion. I use the Dreamscapes collection to make my layout. This collection is so versatile that you can use it for a very soft creation as much as something more striking. And you? what is your favourite animal?
