Be Grateful by Juliya Tirskaya

Hello! It’s Juliya and I am very pleased to present my first project for 7 Dots Studio. Today I want to show you my newest album, made with the amazing Hazy Days collection. The album is called “Be Grateful”. It’s about achievements and faith

The album has 4 spreads and only 8 photos. And I even looked at the film about Ali. With Will Smith. The first thought – He’s so bold! Followed by  a mix of emotions.

I wanted to capture at least a quarter of his self-confidence, strength and thirst for victory.

The second spread. Here I used some Writers Block collection papers. I had cut those sheets and was going to use them some other mini-album but they perfectly complemented this album.

The tag is pulled out. In the album there are two of them.

The third spread. On it, I decided that I would definitely make another album like that. Maybe a mini, or maybe a smaller one.

And the last one. I applied a Clear Gesso on all the pages first. Then paste through the stencils. Then the layers of paper and decor. And only in the end I added stains of paint and tinting with wax. Stamps from this collection have completed the work.

In conclusion, I want to say that it was a pleasure to work with the Hazy Days collection! And I hope that my album will inspire you to play with the papers from this collection. It’s incredible!

It’s Show Time by Elena Martynova

Hello everyone! Elena here with you!
I decided to create an album inspired by the Grunge theme. I used new and one of my favourite collection Hazy Days.
In this album I wanted to play with photos of different sizes and colours. I took a few shots of my daughter, which were made during a Christmas themed photo-shoot. I printed some of the pictures in black and white, and some I corrected in the editor so that they blend with the palette paper.

For the cover I took a piece of blue denim. In all the photos my daughter wears the same blue jeans, so the fabric choice seemed perfect. To make the cover more bright and shiny, so I applied a clear gel through a Dreamscapes – Geometry Stencil and sprinkled some Golden glitter.

On the spread I used all the stencils from Hazy Days and Dreamscapes collection, that were in my design box. An album is a great way to use so many different materials! To complicate the background and make the work more interesting, I used stamps from the Hazy Days and Dreamscapes clear stamps set. I decorated the chipboard with bronze embossing powder. It has become more textured and looks great in the album.

I love the colours and rusty feeling of Hazy Days collection, so I combined some of the Elements and created a layered objects. Although my album is made for girl, which in a month will be 13 years old, there’re no flowers, no pink, no lace! My daughter doesn’t like them any more. She considers herself an adult and she likes rock, grungy dirty colours, wears large size clothing and listens to loud music in the headphones. I tried to reflect that in the pages. During the process I enjoyed paper crafting and combining different patterns. I also added some bright paint splashes.
