Love and marriage by Riikka Kovasin

Hello there!
Riikka here sharing some ATCs with you! The idea for these came from the images on the Fortune-teller die-cut elements sheet. When I happened to read a sentence “tosi rakkaus on kohtalo” – “true love is destiny” I put two and two together and made a series of ATCs connected with love and marriage. The three cards make up a story, in a way. The texts say: “true love is destiny”, “and when you are getting married?” and “we don’t always have a choice”.

I used tags as my card bases and added different layers to them using stencils and stamps. On top of that I then layered a smaller tags, some cheese cloth, piece of die-cut patterned paper and chipboard. On top of everything I placed the ladies who sparked the whole idea.

If you want to see how the cards were made, please watch the video below! If you have any questions, just add a comment to the video and I’ll do my best to answer!

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you feel inspired!

From me to you and Fab by Riikka Kovasin

Hi there! It’s Riikka here today to share a couple of pages with you! For this post I decided to concentrate on the new, fabulous collections. You have seen some fabulous projects with them already, but here’s my first take on “Dreamscapes” and “Hazy Days”. You can familiarize with the new collections here – Dreamscapes and here Hazy Days.

My first page is done with “Dreamscapes”. The topic of the page is the desert in the photo plus my daughter’s silly expression. The dessert in the photo is a cottage classic even my grandmother used to make. A sponge cake styled base topped with fresh or frozen berries depending on the season and then vanilla ice cream to crown it all.

I really love the soft tones of this collection! It’s homey and modern at the same time and goes well with any project! For this theme I included a doily to have a kind of “foody” addition to the page. I also sprinkled some die cuts and stickers to the page like sprinkles or planets and stars as I used the word sticker “a twinkle in your eye” in the layout.

The other page is done with “Hazy Days”. What a cool color combo this collection has! Dark, vibrant blues and vivid yellow! Such a cool combo, and so modern as well. The patterns are grungy and even a bit futuristic because of the pixelation.

The topic of the second layout is a wonderful set of workshops I was invited to host in Belgium. It was a really wonderful event and time and I long to go there again! In the picture the ladies are hard at work. It was really fab, like the title says.

Thank you for stopping by today! Ta ta for now, have a great day!

One school girl by Riikka Kovasin

My older daughter started school almost a year ago. She’s so excited about her teacher, new friends and about school altogether! For this page I chose the photo and the composition, but the journaling is her words. I asked what was the best thing in school and wrote down her answer. I think it will be fun to read that in a couple of years!

As the topic of the page is school, I felt that the alphabet design of the “Inkwell” paper fit the theme well. The paper gave me the idea to do a quite monochromatic page with just a touch of colour. I spread the letters across the page and hid the pattern in the background paper underneath gesso and the letters.

If you want to see how I made the page, I have a video for you. Hopefully you’ll find that inspiring!
