April 2018 Guest Designer – Karine Smouts

Hello 7 Dots Studio fans,
My name is Karine but on the web I’m Smokascrap, a mix of my first name and my name. I live in Southern France, a nice town, Martigues, called “the little Venice of Provence”. I have been scrapbooking since 2009, and from the beginning, I have been fond of inks, modeling paste, gel medium, patterned papers, stencils and stamps. I like creating pages, canvases and cards. I love 7 Dots papers, their design and their quality. I’m so proud to be your “Guest Designer”, thank you for this opportunity.

When i saw this moodboard and this color combo, i immediately thought of this portrait of the woman in a traditional headdress from Polish, Slovenian and Ukrainian Folk culture, of the famous photographer ULA KOSKA and her make-up artist BEATA BODJA. As my the background I used 7 Dots Illusion paper from the Love is in the air collection which sadly no longer exists. Then clustered exotic leaves, inked with distress, flower stamped and watercoloured. To finish, i added pearls, micro-beads and ink splashes.
I loved this moodboard and this combo! I hope that many of you will join us! Thank you for inviting me.
