Hi all!

Hello all! My name is Marie-Josée Hamel. I am 38 years old and I live in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, with my significant other, Michael, and our daughter, Emily, who just turned 9. We share our house with a cat, a rabbit, two snails and a goldfish! 🙂 I discovered scrapbooking in April 2006 during a trip I took to Louisiana, USA, to visit a friend who was really into scrapbooking at the time, and it’s been my passion since then. Mostly, I create layouts, but I also design cards and altered projects. I am also interested in mixed media and have started including mixed media techniques in my projects last year. Color is always what sparks my creative process. I chose the colors I want to work with first, then find a picture to match, which I know is very unusual. You can visit my blog, Les créations de mariemily, at htttp://lescreationsdemariemily.blogspot.com

I am very happy to be a guest designer for 7 Dots Studio this month.

Without further ado, here are the projects I created with the beautiful 7 Dots Studio products.

“Remember” layout

For this layout, I mixed papers and stickers from two collections, Messy Head and Hopefully.

I also used various diecuts and stickers for the two collections. I like to use elements like that instead of journaling on my layouts.

I also cut three rounds stickers (Hopefully collection) in half and used them to add details to my layout.

Supplies used:
Messy Head collection : News Flash, Little Thought, and Just Saying papers; Elements 12 x 12
Hopefully collection : Tags; Stickers 6 x 12

“Dream” layout

This layout includes a few mixed media products and combines products from four different collections.

I started by applying black gesso with an old credit card. Them, I sprayed some blue ink and added patterns with various stamps.

Then, I used all the symbol stickers from the Hopefully collection to create a border on each side of my layout. I used my black permanent pen to draw lines around each sticker.

Then, I added word stickers from the Messy Head collection above and below my picture.

Supplies used :
9th Wave collection : Sea Foam paper
Love is in the air collection : Elements
Hopefully collection : Alpha Stickers 6 x 12
Messy Head collection : Elements 12 x 12; Alpha Stickers 6 x 12

 “Free” layout

For this layout, I only used products from the 9th Wave collection.

When I create layouts, I love to layer papers and ornaments. Here, I used 3D foam dots to add dimension to my layout. There are three layers:

I also love to add a messy touch with white acrylic paint!

Supplies used:
9th Wave collection: Alpha Stickers 6 x 12; Elements; Stormy Sea and Wavy Ocean papers

“Look!” layout

For this last layout, I worked with the Messy Head collection.

Those of you who visit my blog know that I love to create layouts that look like a patchwork.

This is what I have done here with the Messy Head collection. I drew lines on my background, then cut squares out of different papers to add to my grid.

I then put diecuts from the Elements 6 x 12 sheet on each and every square.

Supplies used:
Messy Head collection: Elements 6 x 12; Love Letter, Just saying, Big Words and What Wood U Say papers
