Amy’s magical world
Hello, it’s Amy here today, to share some projects that came together so easily, they were like magic! For this first layout, I created a layout using a photo of my middle daughter, on her 13th birthday last year (she’s not as willing at 14 to allow me to take portrait photos, sadly.) I wanted to capture her spirit on a page. She’s an “old soul” full of life and light, and understanding. She’s very intelligent, and loves to laugh.
I used the All I Ever “lazy afternoon” paper, as my base, and layered heavy body paint through a stencil to add dimension. I did a whole lot of stamping, using my favorite Viva Las VegaStamps!, too.
To layer the paper under the photo, I used one of the Domestic Goddess Collage Adverts, and a few of the messy head 6×6 papers (one that I burned the edges on for a different take), and popped them up with foam adhesive.

Creating mini albums is always such a joy for me. I love collecting small photos and creating tiny pages of art and craft, that ebb and flow and contrast with each other. For this mini album, I chose some of my favorite Victorian images, and a photo of a beautiful leaf I had taken this fall. I began with mini dividers (used for day planners), and covered them in paint or mist. I added stickers from the Domestic Goddess 6×12 sticker set to the tabs that were already there, and layered up the gorgeous papers.
To the cover I added copper wire and May Arts twine around the photo, as well as metal embellishments I felt represented women of the era, and hand painted Prima flowers; over the lovely doily sticker from the Hopefully collection, and papers from “The Queen’s Heart” and “All I Ever.”
The other pages of my mini album were fun and easy to complete, and about as “simple” as I ever get with my designs.
Thanks for having a look at my projects today, and hope you have some time to create as soon as possible! If you’d like to swing by my blog and say hello, you can find me at www.sparklinggnome.com
