Taniko – winner of Scrapbooker of the Year contest in Scrap-Info magazine
Today we have a wonderful Guest – Taniko (Tetiana Komarova) who is the winner of Scrapbooker of the Year 2013 contest organised by Scrap-Info – russian scrapbooking magazine. 7 Dots Studio was a sponsor of the prize and we were happy to invite Taniko to be our Guest Designer.
Hi everyone! My name is Tetiana Komarova, however in the scrap world I use my nickname Taniko. I’m 26 years old and I live in Kiev, Ukraine. Currently there are three important matters in my life: my family – all my time is devoted to upbringing of my son Timofey… well, and my husband sometimes:), postgraduate studies – for already two years all my mental efforts has been thrown to the writing of dissertation, and scrap – in 2010 I plunged into this exciting world and still depend on it.
I like to make works in different styles but my favorite are american (for cadrs) and mixed-media (for LOs, albums, alter). I adore mixed-media techniques because they give me the freedom to express myself and appear to be the best tool for the realization of creative potential. I like to make lots of layers, play with texture paste and paint, use bright colors and fabrics in my LOs.

I’m so excited to became a Guest Designer at 7 Dots Studio! It’s a big honour for me! I like every collection of paper, but especially tags and elements! They make my projects more interesting and deeper. Almost in every LO I use little pieceses of the sheet that remain after using tags.
For today I chose “Love is in the air”, “Hopefully” and “Domestic Goddness” paper and I made two layouts of them.
Simple things
First is a LO about sea vacation previous summer. I wanted my project looks free, dreamy and happy like I am on the photo. This time I used bright colour palette with yellow and purple accents to reflect the summer mood and hightlite the photo. Also I added lots of layers, splashes of acrylic paint and circles made with using of texture paste and mask.
I’ve used the following materials:
– Love Is In The Air – Thunder of the Sea
– Love Is In The Air – Just Dreaming
– Hopefully – Love Me
– Messy Head – Elements
– Hopefully – Tags
– All I Ever – Chipboards
First apple
I’ve been looking for a long time the right photo that would fit perfect for the Domestic Goddness paper. And the photo where Tim wants to eat apple fits the best way. Apple was the first meal that my son tasted. I tried to replicate the colours in the photo by using mix of papers and embellishments.
I’ve used the following materials:
– Domestic Goddess – Overused Tablecloth
– Love Is In The Air – Elements
– Messy Head – Elements
– All I Ever – Chipboards
Thank you for the invitation!!!!!!!!
Hugs and kisses!!!!
