Anna Komenda and Riikka Kovasin

Taking a sharp picture with my younger daughter is almost a miracle. I have so few nice photos with Maja and I cherish every one and I think that everyone has to be framed somehow. This one was taken with my phone using filters, that made it look grey. I thought that using a violet papers would be a perfect choice with this photo especially that violet is on my mind last days. I think the reason is that I wasn’t using it at all for so many years and nature like balance. So now on I have to create many, many violet projects to align arrears. Could it be more perfect violet collection that “All i ever..” one? I think not.

Autumn Dream:
I challenged myself in the beginning of the year to paint and make a canvas that was stuck in my head for a long time. Ever since the first “lady canvas” saw the light of day I have been doing variations of the same basic idea. This time I wanted to capture an autumn like feeling. I struggled really hard with the face of the lady but then suddenly had the idea of painting her eyes closed. And it changed the process so much and helped me to create this piece.

I added round items from various collections to her to resemble of curls. A few of the hair locks are also made out of twine. I also cut leaves from the Nature Walk papers and attached them to the windy hair. There’s also a few blooms there and insects from the Nature Walk collection.

The colors are rich and there’s a lot of gold in the piece in honor of the season. To balance the warm and even hot colors I painted the wings of the dragonfly blue. The piece is also inspired by Gustav Klimt and his fabulous paintings.
