Marilyn Rivera – Take me as I am
Hi!…My name is Marilyn Rivera, I’m from Puerto Rico but I’m living in North Carolina with my lovely family now. I used to be a Fashion Designer but now I’m a SAHM, so I have more time to create. In my work you will see a lot of techniques that I use for my dressmaking, such as pleating or draping. I love mixing paper with fabrics, mediums, lace,
pearls and different textures… I think my style is like “Shabby Chic with mix media” love that my pages look delicate, romantic and feminine. I’m so happy and excited to be part of the 7Dots design team, it’s a dream come true!!
Hello! Marilyn here with you today to share with you my first design team project, I’m so excited. My page is about my lovely niece Fabiola, she is a very special fun girl…”Miss personality” and I chose the beautiful and fun Messy Head collection by Olga Heldwein to work it because this collection reminds me her…
First, I did tearing in the left side of the paper and draped the other right side to create the design. Then I worked with a stencil and molding paste.
My tittle is a die cut element from the “All I Ever” collection.
I cut out all these arrows from the “Big words” paper from the Messy Head collection.
The beautiful paper is “Love Letter”
the feathers are handmade
You can see all the textures here

My second project is more shabby and I worked with the beautiful “All I Ever collection”. Here is my daughter Paola when she was starting to give her first steps some years ago.
The beautiful paper is Velveteen Dreams that I worked with a stencil, molding paste and the stamp from the Cold Country collection. The pretty lace is from Tresor de Luxe.
My photo mat and these butterflies(punched) are from the “Mind Full of Hopes” paper.
Love these hearts (6 x12 Die cut elements) from Illumination collection.
