Hello Sweeties,

Here is a little mixed-media canvas I made for a friend: the photo is a little wink for her.

To make the canvas’s background, I’ve started to glue some paper, doily and book scraps with gel medium. When dry, I’ve covered everything with a thin layer of gesso. I’ve colored with various kind of mediums (gelatos, silk paints, …) the background, before adding more texture with a stencil and heavy gesso. I added somte embossing powder on the wet gesso. And to finish and give some highlight I’ve added some gold wax here and there and some random stamping.
The greenery have been cut in a watercolor paper and colored with Twinkling and gelatos.

The chipboards have been first covered with a thin layer of gesso and then, colored with the same colors of gelatos used on the background.

The butterflies have been colored with the same gelatos after being embossed.

To create the layout, I started by creating a collage of papers. I cut out small and large pieces of paper that I stuck on my page, mainly in the vertical direction.

I covered slightly my papers with gesso . I have used many clear stamps. I mainly use stamps ‘write lines’ and straight lines. This allows me to stay in this atmosphere of this geometric collage.

I used different techniques of coloring to create my page: I used gray or black gelatos, I colored my clear stamps with these gelatos, I wet with water my stamps, and and I can create patterns just ersased , this is the desired result, something very abstract with color and texture.

Once i created my background, I placed my embellissiments always in the vertical direction. My title is placed in an unusual place, voluntarily! I stuck always in a vertical direction, to be in harmony with my page;
I think the Dreamer colection collection is excellent for creating collages, I completely loved working with this collection, because it is very great to play with bright colors . The results can be spectacular ! i hope you enjoy my layout !
