Unique
My older daughter hears a lot how she resembles her mother when she was little. I decided to do this page about her and how unique she is. Because even though there are lot of things that we have in common, she also has her own unique features.

As she’s our little princess, I used pink and white and made a pastel colored page. The layers underneath the photo are a mix of Domestic Goddess, Illumination and xx. The background paper is from Domestic Goddess collection, but it was just a little too overpowering as such. So I treated the paper first with white gesso. I also recorded a little video while working so you can see how the page come into being.

Personal note

This page is about the need we have to take a step forwards, yet we don’t do it. It reminds me of little children who wear new shoes and want to run, but they stand still and just watch them. But there’s no need to rush. We can take our time and re-think, if we are not sure.

I have used the soft and colourful Illumination collection and some bits’n’pieces from my stash. I worked my background with modelling paste and pastel mists, that resemble watercolours.
