Hello 🙂

I know, that so many of you are waiting eagerly for new collections – we are very busy with packing and shipping boxes to the stores and distributors, so soon you will be able to buy Destination Unknown, Soulmates and Thoughts Keeper in many stores around the world 🙂 In the meantime, you can play with us in our challenge and maybe you will be our lucky winner who will be able to choose one collection as a prize 🙂 This month we encourage you to play with textures – we would like to see at least 2 different textures on your project and as always – at least one 7 Dots Studio product.

Our fabulous design team created projects, to inspire you:

I just love how different textures work with mixed media. For this piece I used two different types of canvas, paper and thread together with wooden and metal embellishments.

I’m very strong person and all my life i try to be better. I work with my femininity. I want to be more tender that’s why i made such girly layout with a lot of pink, purple and red colors

The basis of the cover comes from the old book. For creating texture I used old book pages, paste, stencils and fabric.

Hello, as you already know, our new challenge is about textures. So here is some steps to create my background: I glued a lot of papers and die-cut from the Illumination collection and covered everything with a thin layer of gesso. When dry, I colored my background with watercolor, added some random stamping, and added some Crackle paste with a stencil. I let dry again before I added some splatters and some shadow with gelatos. I finished with a mix of Art Sugar and 3D Gloss Gel. I just added the decoration and my photo to finish my layout.

There’s nothing better in the whole world than the happiness of children I love to work with summer pictures of my sons. They’re full of positive energy, enthusiasm and happiness. To create my joyful layout I used a few textures – there are papers, the layers of gesso and other media, some paper and fabric tapes. I mixed two older collections – “Love is in the air” and “Hopefully“. I still like them very much!

Here is my new page today, inspired by our new challenge “textures”. This challenge is for me interesting because I love to see the effects of texture on my layouts, and I also love playing with different mediums. Sometimes we get some nice surprises, and this kind of work is quite unpredictable.
For this page, I worked with the “Domestic goddess” collection. Before starting to work, I chose a page that would be my background. I took the time to look how to build this page: colors, gradients, round cleared, light… From this, I tried to create a continuity.
I added colors to the same tones, beige, brown, white and some black.
“Texture” side, I brought some white gesso to lightly cover my collages around my picture. In some places, I voluntarily applied thicker layer of gesso. On the left, right and below of my photo I have added white microbeads with gel medium. The result is very pretty. Here and there you can still see impressions of stamps made with white acrylic paint. It’s interesting to see textures on scrapbook pages. Often, you want to touch, our eyes are not enough!
Here I also used a chipboard from the Nature Walk collection, and a title from the Illumination collection.
I hope you enjoy my page or give you some inspiration, new ideas.
See you soon.

It was so problem at all for me to be inspired by this months challenge as I just LOVE to add texture!! I wanted to something fallish so as I was going through the Domestic Goddess collection I came across a piece of paper which I had worked on but discarded because I just didn’t like the way it was going. It already had mesh, modeling paste, stamping and beautiful color along with the awesome texture that is already in every sheet of 7 Dots paper. I cut it, layered it, added flowers, rafia and lace and a few sprays of mist and all done!!

In my work there is wood texture in the background paper, the brickwork on the photo and I added a variety of texture units in the layers of decor. I´ve used 7 Dots papers and stickers, added some cut out flowers, embellishments.
Thanks for stopping by!

Textures on my layout come from burlap, gauze and gesso. I have added some gold shimmering using golden Heidi Swapp spray. Black splatters are made with Indian Ink. In my project I have used newest 7 Dots Studio collection – Destination Unknown (papers, stickers, die-cut elements, chipboard, stencils) combined with UmWowStudio chipboard and flair and also stickers from Illumination collection. You can see also wonderful metal embellishments from Finnabair and chipboard from Soulmates collection (7 Dots Studio). You can buy new collections in our store and soon you will be able to buy them in stores around the world.

I decided to create a tag for my “Texture” project this month, so I could really play around & experiment!
I used black archival ink to shade all over an oversized manila postal tag , stamped it with “Illumination” collection background stamps then added an abstract gesso base. I followed with some masking using texture paste & some light misting, then finished if off with layers of Illumination patterned paper off-cuts & tags mixed in with co-ordinating chipboard, muslin & metallic thread. Total textural overload! Yummy!!
