May challenge – Trees

Hello everyone,
This month challenge is about TREES. Trees have amazing energy and many people love to “hug” them or just stay close to them. They give us some shadow during hot days. Trees are the shelter for birds, squirrels and many other animals. Many trees give us wonderful fruits like apples, pears, oranges and many more. Trees produces oxygen that is necessary for every human being. We should love and honour the trees as living part of our planet.
Inspiration from our Design Team:
I chose a photo of one of the beautiful cedars that we can see in the garden of the Chaumont-sur-Loire castle. In front of the tree is one of the sculpture of Patrick Dougherty (www.stickwork.net).
With this layout toook the theme of trees and interpreted it as depicting a ‘family tree’ to go with the family photo of her scrappy friend Natalie.
The Cherry Blossom tree in full bloom are some of the most beautiful flowers, coming in bright colors.
For me there is nothing like the gorgeous and fragrant blossoms on a tree to fill me with the energy of spring.
Through the trees
My inspiration came just from the photo of these tall trees and the path through them, that usually marks the beginning of an adventure. I have mainly used the Destination Unknown tags, element & word stickers! I also incorporated some bamboo sticks, to imitate the tree trunks, placing them right behind my photo.
Grounded
I loved creating this mixed media page in my art journal. I used a chipboard tree as the theme of the challenge this month is trees. I used pieces of the Dreamer collection to create some layers on the page. Then I used a few journaling titles from the Nature walk collection to tie it all together.
For the challenge I’ve created LO inspired by nature theme and my childrens’ photo. I’ve colored the tree chipboard with different LSG embossing powders. I’ve stamped the background with Destination Unknown stamp set and also added some splashes of paint to add more depth to the project. The stars confetti was covered with liquid pearls.
For this great challenge I used a piece of a tree in a literally sense: a piece of driftwood. As it came from the sea, some nautical elements from Destination Unkown collection and UmWow Studio were more than welcomed. Is there anything more relaxing than a slow walk along the beach with a serenade of waves, seagulls and wind? This is the best moment to seize tha day, isn’t it?
