Hello again! HELEN back with you to share the wonderful Destination Unknown Collection with you in this layout I created of my 2 “20 something” children.

I used 3 papers from the Destination Unknown Collection HERE. Namely, Celestial & Journey {both sides – the stripe & the spot}.

I also used tags from the ‘Tags’ paper as well as die-cuts from the 6 x 12 Elements sheet & stickers from the Word Sticker sheet. From UmWow Studio I used the ‘Nautical Stars’ chipboard, which I simply pushed into my black archival inkpad for a rough ink treatment, as well as the ‘Set Sail’ flair from the ‘Set Sail’ flair set of 6 HERE.

I have used the theme of this collection but in a very un-nautical way! I have focused on the concept of my kids leaving home…Sailing Away! & how it is their time in life now to ‘make waves’.

For my mixed media work I started by splattering my page with 13arts Splash! Inks. These inks are especially designed for this purpose & are lovely, thick & opaque yet semi-glossy as you can see.

I also used some of my favourite metallic thread as an extra layer between my papers. I buy that locally here & the weight of it is just perfect for making lovely strong circular loops. I also added some small pieces of gauze here & there to soften my page.

This was a quick & easy page to put together but looks very effective thanks to the addition of the black & white I think. Simple colour schemes always work the best & 3 colours is the most effective I find.

I also added a bit of Dry wall tape.
Another simple addition that always packs a punch!

I wanted to create a card with paper layers, none of flowers but some chipboard pieces, so I left most of the chipboard raw, except for the mermaid. I used tons of paper scraps to add the texture for the card.
