Drawing messages in the sand! Got to love it! They make a perfect photo to scrap! With this one it was drawn by my most gorgeous friend Jessica during a photo shoot at a local beach.

Hello everyone! HELEN here again!!

Seems like I just can’t get enough of the Destination Unknown Collection at the moment!!!

Today I have ANOTHER layout based on this collection & yet it is completely different to what I showed you in April & in May! That is the beauty of it you see…very versatile!

I used the lovely, neutral grey, ‘Walk the Plank’ B-sidepaper as my base here & had a LOT of fun adding the compasses, using the Destination Unknown Compass Mask.

Once I dried off my paste I painted on some mists using a fine paintbrush, just as you would watercolours. Lastly I added some splats of mist using a fan brush & also sponged over the centre of the compass with some white acrylic paint to make them the main focus.

I used appropriate sentiments from the word stickers & also added some nautical stars chipboard from UmWow Studio as they tie in so well with this collection & make great little accents. I hand-Painted my title onto some paper & fussy-cut it out. I also used the text stamp from the same collection. Stamping always adds just that perfect extra depth to a background I think…

I layered up several Destination Unknown Collection papers, distressing the edges of them & using a stapler to attach them in some places for a slightly rustic look.

This was definitely a fun background to create with the Compass stencil.

7 Dots Studio stencils are such a great new addition to their product lines & are just the right size to be handleable. I much prefer them to the 12” stencils so many other manufacturers produce as those are often cumbersome.

I added in some loops of my favourite metallic thread again. Thread is a really trendy layering element these days & works very well with the nautical theme I think too!

I painted my chipboard with mist on a fine paintbrush for a different look.

I hope I inspired you today to play about with your 7 Dots Stencils & try out some trendy watercolour effects. And I promise next month I will be working with a different collection!
