the secret of nature tutorial by olga siedlecka

Here’s the latest entry in my art journal, based on the Lost & Found collection. The entry, devoted to the secret of Nature, includes earthly colours, nature-based patterns, and vintage additions.

1. Cover the journal pages with muted and soft toned papers. Paint them in a rather random and messy way with brown and green watercolours. Apply some crackling paste through the dotty stencil. Arrange the collage composition by layering word stickers, ephemera, fauna and flora pictures, feathers and word stickers.

2. When it becomes dry, apply the second coat of glimmery dots using the mentioned stencil. Now decor the spread with the third layer of blue dots which are made of Gelatos.

3. Start stamping with black ink and then doodle a bit here and there and accent the edges with a black fineliner. You may also write something and add journaling around the collage in illegible manner. Intended shortages give a vintage feel to your creation. Sprinkle the whole with blue mists. Try and add some splashes with a brush generously covered with gesso and black ink. Then accent edges of the journal pages with brownish ink pad. The final step is adding Um Wow chipboards and a flair button which were covered with shimmering paint.
