Fiona Paltridge

Hello 7 Dots friends. Fiona here with you today to share with you a layout I created using the amazing Yultide collection. Even though this collection is designed to cover a Christmas theme, I decided to use it for an every day project focussing on the colours of the collection rather than the images and sayings.

After creating a painted stencil background, I started to layer the Yuletide Tags and strips that I cut from the 6×6 pad. I wanted a grungy appearance, so I edged them all with some black ink.

I added cotton to the tags and cut out some of the Sticker Words to make the first half of my title. I also dressed the layout up by using some of the Die-cut elements that I also edged in black.

Up in the top left hand corner I created a little element of my own by using one of the die-cut arrows as a template and trimming, from the 6×6 pad another one the same so the colours would coordinate. I did this because the die-cut arrow from the sheet was yellow in colour and I didn’t want to introduce another colour to the layout.

Finally I added a little Um WOW chipboard polaroid frame and the rest of my title using some sticky alphas and of course my photo!

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing how versatile these collections can be. I love the colours of the Yultide collection and I think they compliment my black and white photo perfectly!

Thank you for popping by. See you next time xx
