Tutorial by Fiona Paltridge

Hello, Fiona here with you today to share how I made this little art journal spread using 7 Dots Studio Verano Azul collection.

I began by choosing some watercolor crayons that would suit the colours of the collection.
After applying a coating of gesso and then allowing it to dry, I added some watercolor crayon to the background.
Using a soft brush and some water I blended the first two colours on to the background.

Once it had dried, I added some contrasting colours to the edges.
Using my finger, a little bit of water and some gesso, I rubbed the colours into the background until they blended nicely.
Next up I wanted to add some texture so with a stencil and some texture paste I added another layer.
After combining some of the Die cut elements, stickers and tags into a little stack and adhering them to the background, I again used the watercolor crayons to add some colour over the top.
I finished it off by adding a phrase from the sword stickers and giving the whole piece a splash of white ink and some white gesso highlights.
I am so happy with the end result. The Verano Azul collection is so pretty.
Thank you for popping in and checking my tutorial out. I hope I have shared something with you that you can go and try yourself.
See you again soon.
Fiona xx
