Sometimes less is more… by Sanderijn de Bruin

I have had this idea of creating a page with minimal supplies in my head for quite some time now, and I really wanted to give it a try, using 7 Dots Studio products, but without any paper from 7 Dots Studio. Boy that was hard for me! I always want to add more and more.

I started with a blank page watercolour paper. I first applied light paste mixed with mica powder silver and the beautiful 7 Dots Studio stencil ‘dots’.

When this was dry I stamped Homegrown clear stamps with black gesso a little bit over the dots.

Next I added some water and some splatters dark color bloom spray, and more water, until I was happy with the result.

Then I took some wrinkled tissue paper and white gesso, dabbering this on my page for two or three layers, around my stencilled and stamped composition.

I kinda liked the effect of clouds it gives.

I painted the little chipboard hearts black and sprayed some color bloom over it, and some white gesso.

My leaves are white and covered with ultra fine glitter.

I didn’t add much to the page, just some black painted stars, some wire for my picture and the title, a word sticker from the Homegrown collection.

I have never finished a layout as quick as this one!

Thank you for your time!

Love, Sanderijn
