Box of Happiness by Marie Johansson

You know sometimes you have a vision. Mine often comes in the middle of the night, often after an evening of a lot of rushed work. This project was one of those – I had a vision of a box with a poppy on top of it.
I had a small paper box that my mother in law gave me that worked really well for the project. First of all I painted all the edges with Acrylics, and then I cut to size two pieces of paper from “Mint Julep” (Cotton Candy Dreams Collection), one strip and one circle. The strip was glued to the side of the box and the circle on top of the lid.
The fun part is always to embellish, I think. I found this great big poppy in one of my cabinets (It´s actually a piece of home decor… ), and applied it to the lid with hot glue. Then I took two round elements from the Cotton Candy Dreams – Die-cut Elements and placed them on the lid with a pebble stone on top of it. I love the dimensional effect of that. I also added some a couple of gem stones.
To give the box some sort of message I added a “Happy” sentiment and a word stickers on to a tag, and then wrinkled the tag a bit before applying it to the lid.
A small amount of Glimmer Mist Splatters and a touch of the same mist on the edges of the Poppy finished off the box nicely.
I hope you enjoyed my little box of Happiness!
