Calm before the Storm by Marie Johansson

I found this photo in my phone and wanted to use it for this my May Tutorial. I love its feel – calm and tranquil – but the true story was something completely different. Minutes after this shot was taken a terrible thunder storm with severe wind and heavy rain started. The moment before this was pretty surreal – everything was quiet, no wind, no birds singing – nothing. Like all sounds and life just was gone – then the thunder came.

I tried to catch the drama of the situation with strong contrasts. The base paper from Writer´s Block has a bold print and the colours I used are vibrant. Yet there are soft flowers, smooth pebbles, flair and soft colours from Cotton Candy Dreams Papers & Embellishments involved. I really like how it turned out.
