laboratory monochromatic and challenge Hi – welcome back in our inspirational “Laboratory”!
This time we’ve palyed with new challenge – monochromatic project – based on one color, with neutral black and white tones.
Our creative team and fantastic guest designer made projects which show different possibilities of  “making friends” with this crafty idea. We really think that using so narrow palette of colors may be a great advantage for the layout: it will give you fantastic texture and will focus attention to the desired place of your project.

Cynka – our guest designer – says:
When i first saw these papers I already knew what do I want to make with them” wedding cards with unusual, shabby look, distressed and torn. This paper collection is just perfect for that!

Tara says:
This months’ monochromatic challenge for our Laboratory assignment was right up my alley.  I love working with tones that all fall within the same colour family and find that it ties the project together wonderfully, adding a certain amount of fluidity. I chose to stay with a neutral and bright pallette and added in lots of the gorgeous chipboard pieces.  I also decided not to alter the chipboard flourishes at all and kept them completely ‘naked’ as they matched the tones in my paper and flowers just perfectly.  To add even more texture and softness to my layout, I layered several crochet doilies in white and cream which also tied in the patterns of the paper as well.

Finnabair says:
In this layout I wanted to show the harmony and diversity: soft, delicate patterns and elements in delicate shades of pink are in oposition to metal and wooden elements which are on this romantic layout. It is feminine, but not too sweet, soft and surprisingly grungy too. I wanted to share my feelings and my love – to my mother, who is on the old photo.

For my monochromatic project I’ve chosen blue color. I joined two collections – “All I Ever” and “Elise Rebel”. There is a little suprise inside the exploding box – “flying” butterflies.
