Here at 7 Dots Studio we are all in spring mood now! The sun is shning, warmer wind blowing and it all helps to forget about the winter coldness and rain.  the whole nature is woen to life again – and that’s why we look for our “Laboratory” inspiration in it. Butterflies and their night sisters, moths are a very opular and beautiful element – and as you can see in projects of our Design Team – very inspirational! I hope you like the butterflies too and you’ll join our challenge this month:) We can’t wait to see your projects!

My little girl is a real drama queen :-)) Nothing bad has happened on this photo.. the reason she is crying is because of the sand in her shoes…haha. Loving the colors in this new collection and all my butterflies flying around.

For this shadow box, I used a couple of scraps from my paper and layered them with gesso to create the background. I really wanted to focus on the amazing chippies, however, creating my daughter’s butterfly wings out of them, painting and distressing them, as well as using other chippies to layer within the box. It’s incredible, really, how you can create so many different looks with some bare chipboard!!

What do you do with scraps of papers left from others projects? I can’t throw the left overs away and usually I cut some small pieces: flowers, leaves and butteflies. This time I gathered some scraps of papers from Dreamer and Wonderland collections and I cut out some butterflies. This is my card rainbow-coloured:

Everything started from moths. They were flying around the page. When I decided to give them some flowers. They are not just simple moths… so they definetly should eat flowers. After I started journalling I realised that my moths turned into a women. Women just like moths and butterflies – light, pretty, magical…
