Laboratory: Hearts of all kinds
Hi again! Welcome to ur next open challenge in the Laboratory of 7 Dots Studio! This time our creative effords were focused on element which is very popular and often chosen by many crafters for their creations: Heart. Hearts have a leading role in many collages, layouts or cards – and they carry both loads of emotions and meanings. How our wonderful DT was inspired by them? Just take a look!
Heidi:
I initially was a little stumped on this inspiration. Hearts tend to be cutesy, and I don’t do a whole lot of cutesy… BUT then I looked at the beautiful All I Ever paper “Velveteen Dreams” and all of a sudden that pattern became hearts to me, and from there this page just took off! I love the combination of the All I Ever collection with a few of the Wonderland heart stickers, because I just adore a bit of black in just about every project that I create. I grunged it up, and it became not so cutesy and exactly perfect to the mood that I wanted to create!

I love doilies!! LOVE them. Actually, I think I use them on 99% of my projects – LOL! When the newest Laboratory Challenge, ‘Inspired by Hearts’, was posted for the Design Team, I was so excited as I had just recently purchased a bunch of heart shaped doilies from my local thrift store that were perfectly suited!!

I wanted to try something new. I measured myself against Clean & Simple style. It was a hard though very inspired experience. I made some cards which have one point in common – little hearts. Except hearts I tried not to add too many embellishments. Some old sketches from CAS challenge blogs were my sources of inspiration – Clean&Simple and Retro Sketches.
