Hi there friends! Today we’ve got something special for you ! In the Cultural Extras section we are sharing projects inspired by the places we live: our neighborhood, city or just favorite place around. We’ve got 3 great projects made for you by our designers and we visit 3 different countries: Russia, USA and Canada! How cool is that?

Teeshoom – Moscow, Russia:
When I think about my city I always remembering adages like “The grass is greener on the other side of the fence.” or  “The place is best of all where we haven’t been at all.” And I don’t want to follow these phrases. It’s easy to think like that. But I think all people should take a good look around, find something good and bright. And of course do something to make their own home a better place.

My page is not about Moscow, but about my own personal happy feelings about it.
If you want to feel a real spirit of Russia you should see these photos. (Its the winners of “The Best Of Russia” contest in 2008-2011).

Heidi – Missouri, USA:
Recently my husband and I found a pack of playing cards that feature highlights, events, and places to go within our city. We thought it would be fun to spend the next year, randomly drawing out cards with our kids and going to each place.

How perfect was this deck of cards for this inspiration? I decided to make a book, altering the cover with Wonderland Stickers and Elements, as well as chipboard pieces – so that everytime we visit a place, I can create a page in our book – documenting our exploration of our city!

Tara – British Columbia, Canada:
I love where I live!! BC has to have the most amazing climate in all of Canada!  I don’t know where else you can head up to one of the local mountains for a morning of skiing and finish up with a round of golf all in the same day.  We are very fortunate to live in a beautiful, friendly neighborhood – close to parks (we especially love our bunny park where we feed bunnies, ducks and even geese), schools and our local dyke which makes for a wonderful, daily walk.  Our little town is home to a quaint fishing village which is overflowing with history and culture.  We are also a stone’s throw from the ocean which we vist at least once a week.

See Tara’s video!

The kids love building sandcastles and wading in the water.  The layout I have included for this challenge is of my son last summer at one of our favourite local parks.  He was in heaven floating his home-made boat down the little river.
