“Cultural Extras”: Family Time – challenge!

Hi and welcome to our challenge in December – month that is always focused on traditions,celebrations,  gatherings, and all that we call – “Family Time.”
Who of us doesn’t like the moments spent with friends and family: talking, eating together, playing, laughing… or maybe going for a walk or visiting the relatives who we can only see once or twice a year?  “Family Time” is not only focused on Christmas – but all the good memories, wonderful moments we  have with people we love and we’d like to remember forever.

Here are the inspirations from our talented Design Team!

Christmas are always very special time in my family. We celebrate the time that we can spent together. It’s the most important for us these days. It’s very inspiring for me so for today’s challenge I decided to prepare a page in my Family Album. I choose beautiful old photograph of my grandmother and her brother as they were kids. I used Domestic Goddess papers because this collection perfectly emphasize that special moment.

Our own family tradition for Christmas Eve night, is to load our children in their pajamas, with snuggly blankets and hot cocoa, and go on a couple hours drive around our city in search of the most fantastic Christmas lights. I thought the Wonderland and Dreamer Collections were perfect for this, because their colors remind me of those beautiful lights every year… I cut little lightbulbs out of the papers and strung them on my page. 🙂

Our general holiday in winter is New Year. And of cause it’s a family holiday. We are waiting for this holiday since 1st of December, making preparations, decorations, buying presents, writing a wish-lists. I like to take a walk with my family in the morning of 1st of January. All crazy parties and fireworks are over. It’s usually very quite and nice outside. I think, you can almost feel the freshness of a new year.

One tradition we have in our family is to take pictures when we´re together in special occasions like Easter, Mother´s Day, Christimas. I collect all this photos and, at the end of the year, as a Christmas gift, I put together a desk calendar featuring one family member per month. They love seeing who was featured and that´s a nice way to keep our memories and traditions too. So, for this challenge, I just thought about doing a desk calendar, not using my family photos, but the amazing Wonderland line designed by Finn. Inspired by this collection, I also included some Alice´s in Wonderland  images/cutouts, just to create the collages I like.
