My project is about art.
How we create to inspire. Inspire myself to never give up, to live for today, but also to inspire others and hopefully let them feel uplifted and confident to live their life, follow their dreams…

This is how I made my mixed media piece:
I used the paper from Hazy Days ‘Zip’ in the frame, to give it that worn, rusty look. When it was glued down, I put a thin layer of clear crackle over it. When it all was dry and crackled, I brushed gold mica powder over it, so the crackles were more visible and shiny. I gave this piece the title ‘live for today’ with the word stickers from Hazy Days.

I build up my light bird with chipboard wings, wire, flowers, metal pieces, stars, little paper circles from Hazy Days die cut elements, a piece of a fabric scarf as a tail, and the centre is a light bulb with a metal star and a swarovski crystal in it. I painted the light-bulb with golden sparkle paint at the backside, before glueing it down. This way it lights up very bright. I gave the other elements (chipboard, metal embellishments, flowers and fabric) several layers of spray ink, green and brass coloured wax, gold mica powder and a little bit of glitter…
