Secret Message: Art Journal with Butterflies

Today I’m sharing a new spread from my vintage-inspired art journal.
This project was created with the beautiful Butterfly Effect collection from 7 Dots Studio — one of my absolute favorites for soft nostalgic tones and meaningful little details. I love how its muted backgrounds and gentle patterns instantly bring that feeling of time-worn pages, where every layer holds a hidden story.
The butterfly became the symbol of this spread — a secret messenger between past and present. Surrounded by sepia portraits and touches of blue and gold, it feels like a whisper of memories and intuition, encouraging us to trust the quiet voice within.
I used Soft Matte Gel to fix all the delicate paper bits and ephemera, keeping the texture light but dimensional. Small splashes of color brought life to the composition, like emotions surfacing from old photographs.
Sometimes our art journals become a space for secret thoughts — words we never say aloud but still want to keep safe.
